The Employment Coach (Pathways) helps refugees to move into work that uses their skills. You will:
- Support refugees with status to find work and stay in it.
- Run a weekly job club with volunteers and mentors.
- Work with partner organisations and VAS colleagues so that clients get the right support.
The starting point is welcome and building a safe space. Creating a place where somebody feels safe is what makes everything else possible — and co-delivery through involving refugee volunteers in the design and delivery of the work is a key foundation of how we do that.
This role delivers Sheffield City Council’s Pathways to Work contract, which helps refugees into work.
This role suits someone who is passionate about equity in opportunity, sees the skills people bring, and enjoys working alongside volunteers.
