This role suits someone who is passionate about equity in opportunity, believes in what volunteering can offer, and enjoys building relationships with people and organisations.

The Volunteer Co-ordinator opens up volunteering for people seeking sanctuary. You will:

  • Help people seeking sanctuary find volunteering, within New Beginnings and across Sheffield.
  • Recruit, support and develop a team of New Beginnings volunteers and mentors.
  • Deliver training that helps people seeking sanctuary start volunteering, and helps organisations welcome them.
  • Work with VAS colleagues and partner organisations to make volunteering more inclusive.

The starting point is welcome and building a safe space. Creating a place where somebody feels safe is what makes everything else possible — and co-delivery through involving refugee volunteers in the design and delivery of the work is a key foundation of how we do that.

This role suits someone who is passionate about equity in opportunity, believes in what volunteering can offer, and enjoys building relationships with people and organisations.

More information on the New Beginnings project is available in the About New Beginnings document.
