Lunch clubs support
Lunch Clubs Development Officer
Our dedicated service supports around 80 Lunch Clubs in Sheffield. They provide meals, social activities and stimulation to older people in the city. If you run a lunch club you can have support from us in managing finances, insurances, organising your group and recruiting, training and managing your volunteers. You can also use us as a sounding board for developing ideas – for example on activities for your members.
Our lunch clubs referral service is a valuable resource for those wanting to join a lunch club to join one that is right for them and perhaps close to their home.
How we work with you
We know it takes hard work and dedication to run a lunch club. Our support gives you breathing space and takes some of the hard work out of running your lunch club.
Our qualified accountants can help with managing accounts, cash flow and preparation of accounts for examination. Included is a free one-hour session with the Accountancy team.
We offer free advice on day-to-day management, working with you to create plans to continue your service and signpost you to other services.
Our discounted public and employer’s liability insurance policy for Sheffield-based Lunch Clubs takes the headache out of making sure you have the right insurances for your group.
We help recruit, train and support volunteers, and advise on best practice for managing volunteers. Finding the right volunteers and supporting them means they’re happier and stay with you for longer.
And why not use us as a sounding board to find ideas for activities to engage your members – we can refer you to Sheffield organisations that work with community groups.
Our regular newsletter keeps you informed; sharing news and ideas from groups across the city. As a group organiser or volunteer, you will be able to contribute to this newsletter.
