Volunteer Strategy Launch

15th May 2018

Volunteering lies at the heart of Sheffield: it brings communities together to take action; and it gives a sense of purpose and fulfilment to people right across the city; and it provides support and services for vulnerable groups.

We have worked across the voluntary, public and private sectors to develop a strategic approach to volunteering which makes the most all the assets Sheffield has.  Our ambition is: Sheffield is a city which values, promotes and engages volunteers and volunteering to make the city a better place to live and work.

The strategy sets out 5 areas where volunteering can have significant impact which we want to develop further: health and wellbeing; employment and skills; older people; young people; and resilient communities.

We’ll be launching the strategy on 14 June at the Circle, and will be joined by Jim Steinke, the new Cabinet lead at Sheffield Council.  Do join us to contribute to the action planning and contribute to the strategy’s implementation.
