CALL FOR INFORMATION – Holiday Hunger in Sheffield 2019

20th December 2018

VAS is working with Sheffield City Council to coordinate a bid on behalf of the city to leverage funding from a £9M national grant to provide activities and food for families in need next Summer, as well as coordination and development.

The funding opportunity is offered by the Department of Education for up to 9 projects across England for the local coordination of activities and food provision for disadvantaged children in the Summer of 2019.
The VAS consortium has led on the coordination of food provision alongside holiday activities with a number of key providers in the city for the last two years, but this significant grant opportunity could increase the scale of this provision and invest in the infrastructure and partnerships for the longer term.

ARE YOU INVOLVED IN OR PLANNING SUMMER ACTIVITIES FOR 2019? PLEASE LET US KNOW
We are asking for all charities, community organisations, sports clubs, TARA’s, and other local groups in the city planning to run activities in the Summer to let us know about BOTH planned activity and new provision that might be possible with grant funding.

We have prepared a short PROFORMA which is available to download here Holiday Hunger-proforma for activity 2019.
We would like to hear from as many groups as possible by the deadline of Monday 14th January 2019.

We are particularly interested in hearing from groups working with hard-to-reach communities and smaller groups.
