Volunteering news
Good news for refugees and asylum seekers!
Thanks to funding from Sheffield City Council and the Esmee Fairbairn Fund, the New Beginnings Refugee and Asylum Seekers Project has been re-launched.
The New Beginnings project, based in our Volunteer Centre, supports refugees and asylum seekers to volunteer. For refugees and asylum seekers volunteering is a real gateway into local Sheffield life, and provides a unique opportunity for them to prove old skills, gain new ones and to find greater wellbeing by contributing something to the local community.
The project is open Tuesday - Thursday, 10.00 - 2.00, for appointments.
If you work with refugees and asylum seekers who may be interested in volunteering, then please get in touch - email refugee@vas.org.uk with your client’s details, or call 0114 253 6655 and speak to a member of the team.
