Legal Advisory Service
VAS's Legal Advisory Service provides information, advice and training on legal and employment matters for voluntary and community groups.
It can help if your group is located in Sheffield. Advice, information and support can be provided on the following matters:
- getting registered as a charity
- becoming a charitable company
- contracts with other organisations
- negotiating a lease
- legal problems in setting up or running your group
- tailored training on governance and other legal issues
Although the service can be provided free of charge to prioritised groups with little or no funding for legal services, VAS has a scale of charges for the Legal Advisory Service's work with other organisations.
The Service is part of the wider South Yorkshire Legal and HR Service to the voluntary and community sector.
