Legal Advisory Service
Voluntary Action Sheffield’s Legal Advisory Service provides information, advice and training on legal and employment matters for voluntary and community groups.
The Service is part of the wider South Yorkshire Legal and HR Service to the voluntary and community sector.
It can help if your group is located in Sheffield and would like advice or help on any of the following:
- Legal
- getting registered as a charity
- becoming a charitable company
- contracts with other organisations
- negotiating a lease
- legal problems in setting up or running your group
- tailored training on governance and other legal issues

Although the service can be provided free of charge to prioritised groups with little or no funding for legal services, VAS has a scale of charges for the Legal Advisory Service's work with other organisations.
