Sheffield Compact

The Sheffield Compact is an agreement between Sheffield City Council (SCC) and the local voluntary and community sector (VCS).

Aims and Objectives
The Compact Vision is to:  

  • Achieve better understanding between the sectors.
  • Establish a framework and procedures to address difficulties.
  • Develop and establish better practice in relation to key areas.
  • Enhance and increase collaborative working on planning and service delivery.
  • Break down the barriers between the sectors and improve communication.
  • Ensure that the Compact moves forward and implements real change.

Sheffield Health Compact

Principles of a "Health Compact" have also been agreed between the NHS and the VCS. There is now a Steering Group working to develop these principles, and three "Task Groups" (on funding, partnership, and participation and consultation) Codes of Practice developed. The annual conference was held at the Centre in the Park on 29th March 2007 - see report Health Compact event 29 March 2007
