This year's AGM will be the last for our current Chair, Beryl Seaman. Beryl will be stepping down at this meeting, and we will be taking this opportunity to celebrate the highlights and work undertaken over the past 12 months. We will also look to the year ahead, and how we will respond to the challenges currently facing society, and our sector. Prior to the AGM Professor Danny Dorling from the University of Sheffield will speak on 'Social Inequality and the Economic Crash'. Danny has had more than a dozen books published with colleagues, along with several hundred journal papers on issues related to social inequalities in Britain. His work covers issues such as housing, health, employment, education and poverty. He is an Academician of the Academy of the Learned Societies in the Social Sciences and, in 2008, became Honorary President of the Society of Cartographers. Danny's presentation is guaranteed to be interesting and thought provoking, with the opportunity for questions and discussions afterwards. FREE event, but places must be booked in advance.
