We do this through specialised training, information and support services including ˇ high quality, low-cost independent examinations ˇ a comprehensive payroll service ˇ support, advice and information for groups on accountancy issues ˇ training, including accredited training, on all aspects of financial management ˇ opportunities for volunteering in accountancy cas@vas.org.uk payroll@vas.org.uk Capacity Building and Quality The Capacity Building and Quality Department supports the development of voluntary and community groups with information and advice about management, governance, fundraising and sustainability and quality assurance. The stylish, environmentally-friendly premises offer well-designed, contemporary office accommodation for around twelve voluntary and community organisations, plus excellent meeting, conference and training facilities available to all. ˇ 11 training and meeting rooms for hire to suit groups of all sizes ˇ conference suite for up to 140 people ˇ discounts for voluntary and community organisations and for regular evening and weekend users ˇ up to the minute communications and ICT ˇ excellent disabled access ˇ office space to suit a wide range of organisations info@thecirclesheffield.org.uk Training VAS's Training Department develops the skills and knowledge of staff and volunteers in the local voluntary and community sector, to build the capacity and effectiveness of groups and organisations. We offer a range of training and services including ˇ running short and longer courses, some accredited, in city centre venues ˇ training to groups in their own communities ˇ specific training for staff and volunteers working with people with mental health problems, and carers ˇ help for groups to identify their training needs ˇ workforce development information and advice training@vas.org.uk Planning and Partnership This department helps voluntary and community organisations play a full part in planning, developing and delivering local services in the fields of health, children and young people, older people, supported housing and social care. The Planning and Partnership Team ˇ organises voluntary and community sector networks ˇ supports the sector's representatives on some strategic bodies ˇ informs the sector about national and local policy issues pandp@vas.org.uk Volunteer Centre The Volunteer Centre provides signposting and information about local volunteering opportunities and promotes good practice in managing volunteers through advice, support and training.
